RISO DI BRA: the inimitable rice of Low Piedmont
It looked like an invincible bet, but today Riso di Bra is considered among the best of the sector.
It was back in 1991 that Ernesto Allocco began to cultivate its first paddy field in a small fraction of the town of Bra, in Cuneo province. Along the years, the company has grown also thanks the important contribution of his sons Giovanni and Marco, that during Expo 2015 were rewarded with the Green Oscar for agricultural innovation.
The family-run farm distinguishes itself for the production of varieties of rice such as "Carnaroli" and "Loto”, both available vacuum-sealed and in tasty ready-mix risotti. Others leading products of Riso di Bra brand are puffed rice crackers and "BraBeer", a craft beer with rice.
